Application
Submission Process

Please read this application package carefully. A submission must be complete and include the following:

  • PART 1 – Student Athlete Information – Completed by the athlete/parent.
  • PART 2A – Student Athlete Personal Response – Completed by the athlete.
  • PART 2B – Academic Intake Form – Completed by the athlete.
  • PART 3 – Confidential School Recommendation – Completed by the school.
  • PART 4 – Confidential Coach Reference – Completed by the ski coach.
  • $200 Application Fee – see instructions below.
  • Copy of all report cards issued to date for the current academic year.
  • A current Credit Counselling Summary OR a transcript from your child’s guidance department (for students currently in grade 9 – 11).

April 1st, 2025 – All application components submitted to application@nsa.on.ca

  • Course selection occurs during the month of March. Registration/enrolment after April 1 may result in preferred course choices not being available and/or considered.
  • Early submission of application components may qualify candidates to join our student athletes as guests at special Western Canada on-snow projects in April
  •  

After April 1, applications may be reviewed, space permitting. Additional registration fees will apply.
Boarding spaces are limited. We strongly recommend early submission of application components should your family require a boarding space.

Part 1 & 2 can be emailed to application@nsa.on.ca OR mailed to NSA at the address below.

Part 3 & 4 should be emailed directly from the school/coach to application@nsa.on.ca OR mailed to NSA at the address below.

Report cards, Credit Counselling Summary, and transcript can be emailed to application@nsa.on.ca OR mailed to NSA at 200 Oak Street, Collingwood, ON L9Y 2Y1.

Application fee of $200 can be submitted via:

  • E-transfer to ctolles@nsa.on.ca; please include ‘Application fee for _______ (athlete)’ in the details.
  • Cheque made payable to National Ski Academy.
  • Visa or Mastercard accepted by phone (Please note a 2.8% service fee will be added to all credit card charges)


Prior to submitting your application, we encourage all applicants and their parents to read our NSA Family Handbook on our website to ensure that your personal expectations and goals align with that of the Academy.

YOUR APPLICATION IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS. APPLICATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED ON A ROLLING BASIS. NSA WILL CONTACT ATHLETES AND PARENTS TO SCHEDULE A PERSONAL INTERVIEW.

2025-2026 Tuition & Program Costs

Maximum volume/days on snow (FIS – 120, U16 – 100)

1:5 coach to athlete ratio

Two training camps*: Chile in September, Western Canada in December

All local training costs (i.e. hill space, 5×7) and local racing (i.e. race entry fees)

Race starts

  U16 – all OCUP series races

FIS – all local FIS level races

Fully integrated academic program to ensure maximum time on snow, while working toward Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements with small class sizes, hands on learning

Post-secondary planning, application & guidance support

Full time coaching and comprehensive programs

Physical conditioning onsite

Mental conditioning for high-performance athletes

Year-round injury prevention program

Nutrition program with meals prepared by a Cordon Bleu chef

Facilities in Tornaveen, our 12,000 square foot Victorian mansion, including classrooms, gymnasium, weight room with Olympic lifting platforms, tuning room, dining room, study hall, lounge, boarding rooms

Financial Assistance

National Ski Academy has a financial assistance program for those that qualify. 

  • Applications must be made through a third party Apple Financial Services (AFS) to assess a family’s financial ability relative to tuition and other costs related to programming. This application is separate from the admissions application
  • AFS will complete a formal assessment and make a recommendation to National Ski Academy’s Financial Assistance Committee

International Students (ISGC, Canada Study Permit)

For international students we work in partnership with International Student Guardianship Canada (ISGC) who will assume the responsibilities for guardianship and provide your child with an additional layer of support during the academic year while they are away from home.
